Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and investigations to identify and mitigate potential infection control risks.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education and training on infection control best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of infection control programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest infection control guidelines and regulations.
- Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service.
- Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
- Two years of service in any Grade 18 or higher position that requires a registered professional nurse license; OR one year of service in any Grade 20 or higher position that requires a registered professional nurse license.
- Three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with one year primarily working in the development, implementation, or administration of an infection control program.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing.
- Current Certified in Infection Control (CIC) certificate issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
