Job Summary

As a Therapist at Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, this pivotal role is designed to support individuals and families through their mental health journeys. This role requires a compassionate, skilled professional committed to delivering high-quality psychotherapeutic services. You will apply a range of techniques and interventions to address emotional and behavioral disorders, tailoring treatment plans to the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct social history assessments of patients through observation and patient/family interviews, obtaining information on their needs, skills, interests, and limitations for the development and implementation of treatment plans.
• Coordinate and plan programs and activities to meet patients' social and emotional needs.
• Promote recovery, symptom reduction, and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.
• Provide crisis management and family sessions to assist families in understanding the implications and complexities of a life situation and its impact on lifestyle.
• Assist in the development of effective treatment plans that apply therapeutic principles appropriately while ensuring safety at all times for patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss patient assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing discharge plans.
• Communicate or aid family members in understanding and supporting patients.
• Manage a caseload and assume responsibility for patient chart documentation.
• Facilitate education, process groups, support groups, and referrals as requested.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a clinical field.
• One or more years' experience working with the patient population preferred.
• State licensure as one of the following: LSW, LPC, LPCC, LISW.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
