Job Summary

As a Therapist at Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, this pivotal role is designed to support individuals and families through their mental health journeys. This position requires a compassionate, skilled professional committed to delivering high-quality psychotherapeutic services. You will apply a range of techniques and interventions to address emotional and behavioral disorders, tailoring treatment plans to the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough social history assessments of patients through observation and patient/family interviews, gathering information on their needs, skills, interests, and limitations to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and plan programs and activities to meet patients' social and emotional needs, promoting recovery, symptom reduction, and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.
  • Provide crisis management and family sessions to assist families in understanding the implications and complexities of a life situation and its impact on lifestyle.
  • Assist in the development of treatment plans that apply therapeutic principles appropriately while ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss patient assessment, treatment plans, and ongoing discharge plans.
  • Communicate or aid family members in understanding and supporting the patient, managing a caseload and assuming responsibility for patient chart documentation.
  • Facilitate education, process groups, support groups, and referrals as requested, demonstrating a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times.

Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, including new graduates.
  • One or more years' experience working with patient populations preferred.

Licenses/Certifications
  • LSW, LPC, LISW
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
