Our organization is seeking empathetic and skilled professionals to serve as crisis counselors, answering phone calls, chats, and texts.
The 988 crisis line is a direct connection to compassionate and accessible care and support for individuals experiencing mental health-related distress.
This is a full-time, 3rd shift position that requires a Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess caller risk of suicide via telephone
- Provide therapeutic de-escalation as needed via telephone
- Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services via telephone
- Develop appropriate crisis plans and follow up tasks
- Refer callers to appropriate agency or community resources
- Attend departmental and organizational meetings
- Complete documentation of caller assessment in a timely and thorough manner
- Maintain current with new developments in crisis, trauma, and grief counseling
