Role Summary:
SOVAH Health in Danville, VA is seeking a Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant for our Day Shift Team (7a - 7p & EOW).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with fundamental patient care tasks under the guidance of a registered nurse.
- Monitor and record vital signs, blood glucose levels, and fluid intake/output.
- Support patients with personal care and daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
- Report any unusual findings or changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional states to nursing staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in patient rooms and common areas.
- Assist patients with restroom needs, including the use of bedpans.
- Help patients with mobility, utilizing walkers and wheelchairs as necessary.
- Facilitate feeding for patients when required.
- Monitor and document patients' fluid intake as directed.
- Reposition patients as needed for comfort and care.
- Ensure patient hygiene by checking and changing linens as necessary.
- Utilize proper patient identification protocols.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
- Ability to think critically, make decisions, and work independently.
- Capacity to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Certifications:
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
Licensure:
- Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Nursing Aide Registry. Candidates with a CNA license from another state must obtain Virginia certification within 30 days of hire.
Experience:
- Preferred: One year of experience as a CNA, Respiratory Care Assistant, Rehab Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, EMT, Phlebotomist, or similar clinical role.
