Job Summary:

Sovah Health in Danville, VA, is seeking a Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Day Shift Team (7a -7p & EOW). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision of an RN, perform basic patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assist with maintaining patient rooms and common areas, ensuring they are stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Support patients with ambulation, using walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
  • Assist with feeding and fluid intake, measuring and recording as directed.
  • Reposition patients as necessary and check diapers and underpads with each position change.
  • Utilize proper patient identification systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification required.
  • Registration on the Virginia Board of Nursing Aide Registry is required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a CNA, Respiratory Care Assistant, Rehab Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, EMT, Phlebotomist, or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
