Job Summary:

Kelly Science & Engineering is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team in San Diego. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of clinical materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming clinical materials, verifying accuracy, quantity, and quality.
  • Properly store and manage clinical supplies and materials, adhering to their specific requirements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and control key supporting documents related to receipt and issue of clinical materials in manual and automated systems.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to direct and track materials for receiving, storage, and distribution, rotating stock based on first-in, first-out (FIFO) criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, analyzing and correcting inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient material delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation, packaging, and shipping of clinical materials.
  • Understand and follow safety/quality control procedures, handling potentially hazardous materials or equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to clinical materials handling and storage, including Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Compute space for storage requirements, maintain the locator deck, and keep an organized warehouse, receiving area, and office space.
  • Assist in periodic inventory audits based on prescribed schedules.
  • Schedule hazardous waste pick-ups and sign shipping manifests.
  • Support manual defrost freezer procedures and record keeping.
  • Perform all other assigned duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience working in a biotech setting.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge, and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, and proficiency in using inventory management/ERP software.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
