Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team at Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. As a member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treating patients with mental health conditions, including behavioral health registered nurses (RNs) and psychiatric crisis intervention
  • Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms, helping to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
  • Administering treatment and medications, and helping with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
  • Teaching patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy

Requirements:

  • Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
  • Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
