About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Equipment Trainer to join our team at Hilmar Cheese Company. As a key member of our Training and Development Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our maintenance technicians have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Work with the Training and Development Administrator to define and assess the type of training needed for maintenance technicians. Develop and deliver training programs that meet the needs of our technicians and the company.
  • Training Delivery: Deliver training sessions to maintenance technicians on equipment maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and other relevant topics. Ensure that training is delivered in a clear and concise manner, and that technicians understand the material.
  • Curriculum Development: Continuously evaluate and improve the training curriculum to ensure that it meets the changing needs of the company and its technicians. Develop new training programs and materials as needed.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess the knowledge and skills of maintenance technicians through regular evaluations and assessments. Identify areas where technicians need additional training or support, and develop plans to address these gaps.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Partner with maintenance management and other departments to ensure that training is aligned with company goals and objectives. Communicate effectively with technicians, management, and other stakeholders to ensure that training needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. education, training and development, engineering) preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a training and development role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience with equipment maintenance and repair a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with technicians, management, and other stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop and deliver training programs that meet the needs of technicians and the company.
