Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter I to provide carpentry support to crews working for the construction, maintenance, and repair of City properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled carpentry tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade.
  • Operate power-driven equipment and use hand tools to complete tasks.
  • Receive assignments from supervisors in the form of oral or written instructions, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Work is reviewed by inspection during the work process or upon completion of assignment for compliance with specifications and standards.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in rough and/or finished carpentry work.
Working Conditions

Must be willing to work weekends or long hours for emergencies or special City events.

Must be willing to work from heights in order to complete carpentry work.

Willingness to work in poor weather conditions when required to perform carpentry work.
