Key Responsibilities:
The role involves a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of laboratory samples
- Diagnostic imaging and management of medical cases
- Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans
- Surgical preparation and assistance, along with anesthetic management
It is essential to be prepared for exposure to various odors and sounds, as well as potential risks associated with animal handling.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Timeliness and readiness to work
- A minimum of one year of experience is preferred; certification as CVT/RVT/LVT is a plus
- Availability to work on weekends
- Outstanding customer service skills and precise communication abilities
- Capability to interpret medical records and document client histories accurately
- Knowledge of preventative care, surgical protocols, and hospital operations
- Ability to handle pets safely and with minimal stress
- Proficiency in sample collection, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples
- Experience in laboratory sample processing and testing
- Skill in positioning and capturing radiographs, with dental radiography experience being advantageous
- Competence in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development
- Openness to constructive feedback to enhance hospital efficiency
