Laborer - Production Team Member

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and move materials within or near the plant yard upon receipt of work orders or oral instructions.
  • Equipment Operation: Drive forklift, tractor trailer, and skip loader within the plant yard.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, and equipment throughout the plant.
  • Trash Removal: Remove trash from the plant, locker room, lunchroom, parking lot, and surrounding areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Paint equipment as necessary and operate process equipment as instructed.
  • Documentation: Record proof of cleaning and sanitation.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior forklift experience preferred, with previous experience in a production setting also preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to climb and not be afraid of heights, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions

Constantly:

  • Move and transport materials up to lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving, and rigging equipment.
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials that are hot or hazardous chemical materials.

Frequently:

  • Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance.
  • Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material.
  • Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift or other mechanical equipment.

Occasionally:

  • Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removed.
  • Electronically and manually completes logs/reports.
  • Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties.
