The Rehabilitation Specialist is a proactive professional who excels in evaluating patients' capabilities and limitations while developing innovative and effective rehabilitation strategies.

Your role will involve applying your expertise to assist patients in their journey towards healing, recovery, pain management, and enhancing functional independence.

The Staff Rehabilitation Specialist conducts patient assessments utilizing core clinical knowledge, implements treatment strategies, and executes care plans consistently.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree required; Doctorate preferred
Licensed Rehabilitation Specialist in the practicing state
Completed state-mandated Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in the relevant state
Valid CPR Certification
Experience with EMR software is preferred
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to patient success
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times

Responsibilities:


Collect and document patient care data in accordance with service formats and guidelines from regulatory agencies and third-party payers, reflecting an understanding of reimbursement systems and their influence on patient care.


This includes, but is not limited to, initial evaluations, daily progress notes, reassessments, discharge planning, and communication with team members. Additionally, you will record daily billing and adhere to departmental productivity guidelines.

Prepare for evaluations in line with departmental policies and standards of practice, including gathering patient history, demonstrating knowledge of patient diagnoses, and researching unfamiliar conditions.

Select and administer appropriate tests and measures.
Furthermore, synthesize evaluation findings to establish diagnoses, goals, prognosis, and treatment plans.
Develop treatment strategies based on evaluation outcomes, objectives, and best practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and their support systems. Assess and reassess the need for modifications to treatment plans and objectives.
Identify the necessity for consultations and/or refer patients to other healthcare professionals or services. Initiate and complete discharge planning.
Provide education and training to patients and/or their support systems.
Functional Training includes, but is not limited to, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), therapeutic activities (e.g., transfers, bed mobility), rehabilitation equipment prescription and training, and community reintegration.
Responsible for treatment, care plans, and exercise prescriptions for patient caseloads.
Deliver interventions that are safe, effective, and compliant with JAG standards.
Musculoskeletal Interventions include, but are not limited to, therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and modalities.
Document treatment data and notes using WEB PT EMR for all services rendered.
Supervise support staff, including Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), Athletic Trainers (ATCs), and Physical Therapy aides.
Attend annual JAG Billing and Coding seminars.
Promote JAG within the community through educational lectures and presentations.
