Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shuttle Bus Driver to provide transportation services to our hospital community during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License and experience driving 20+ passenger shuttle buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation for NWTHS employees, students, faculty, and physicians by driving designated campus shuttle routes.
  • Responsible for shuttle maintenance, including cleaning, fuel supply, and completing necessary shuttle usage summaries.
  • Respond safely and effectively to all related matters that come to attention during the performance of these activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Current valid Texas Commercial Driver's License.
  • Preferred experience in driving 20+ passenger shuttle buses (1-2 years).
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Ability to read and write in English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, physicians, support agencies, patients, families, vendors, and others.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures, weather, and humidity for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation.
  • Ability to discriminate color.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
  • Bending, lifting (10-50 lbs.) from floor to waist, grasping, fine eye/hand coordination, pushing, and pulling.
  • Physical ability to maintain a Texas Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to bend/stoop/kneel.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to carry 25 lbs.
  • Ability to push/generate 50 lbs of force.
  • Ability to pull/generate 50 lbs of force.
  • Exposure to infectious organisms, agents, and toxic chemicals.
