JROTC Instructor

Job Summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a qualified JROTC Instructor to join our team. As a JROTC Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students in the JROTC program, emphasizing leadership, citizenship, and character development.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.

Requirements

• Must be officially retired from the United States military, including Reserve and National Guard personnel, and approved by the sponsoring service.

• Twenty or more years of military service documented as a commissioned officer at the time of official separation from military duty.

• Letter from the respective service indicating that the officer has been certified to be a JROTC instructor.

• Additional required documentation includes the Department of Defense Form 214 (DD214) for active duty personnel, National Guard Form 22 (NGB 22) for Retired National Guard Retirees, and Florida National Guard Form 37 (FNGF 37) for Retired National Guard Retirees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in teaching or mentoring students in a JROTC program or similar setting.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing circumstances.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with teaching and mentoring students.
