Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Assess and manage patients utilizing advanced medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effectiveness and quality of patient care.
  • Receive patient referrals from other healthcare providers and serve as the admitting, attending, or consulting physician as needed.
  • Participate in academic activities such as medical education and research as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation that meets insurance standards and manage appeals for any denials promptly.
  • Provide both inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty care, which may include on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to employment.
  • Nurse Practitioner credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required prior to employment.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) credential preferred.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Nursing is mandatory.
