The Asphalt Plant Manager is responsible for directing and managing the operations of an asphalt plant, ensuring safe and efficient production, maintenance, and quality control. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage plant operations, scheduling, and personnel to ensure safe and efficient production, maintenance, and quality control.
- Coordinate plant activities with estimators/project managers to meet production requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to personnel, including developing others for future leadership positions.
- Manage materials inventory, capital asset maintenance, and component replacement.
- Monitor and report on overall plant performance for safety, production, and quality standards.
- Manage variable costs, including labor, fuel, equipment, and repair expenses.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, replacing or adjusting as necessary.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure shop floor organization and plant cleanliness (Good Housekeeping).
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a plant operator with demonstrated ability to manage others.
- Two- or four-year degree or certification in process technology or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems, lifting and erection, mathematical and statistical analysis.
