Essential Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Proficient in System Safety Engineering methodologies as outlined in MIL-STD-882E and the Joint Software Systems Safety Committee (JSSSC) Handbook

Documentation Expertise:
You will be responsible for producing various DoD-required documentation, including but not limited to:
  • System Safety Management Plan
  • Preliminary Hazard Analysis
  • Functional Hazard Assessment
  • System Safety Risk Assessment
  • System Safety Hazard Analysis Report
  • Safety Engineering Analysis Report
  • Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Report
  • Safety Assessment Report
  • Engineering Change Proposal System Safety Report
  • Health Hazard Assessment Report
  • Mishap Risk Assessment Report

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs, particularly within Army contexts
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and project management capabilities, with a focus on managing safety programs
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Broad knowledge of technical theories and concepts related to system safety engineering
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines such as AR 385-10 and MIL-HDBK-454
  • Experience with Software System Safety Technical Review Panels (SSSTRP)
  • Background in developing proposals and basis of estimates
  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is preferred

Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or 15+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
