Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Crossing Guard. This role will work jointly with the City of Hastings Police Department and Hastings Public Schools to ensure the safe passage of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and direct students crossing streets to provide a safe environment for students to walk to school.
  • Suggest improvements in procedures for students who walk to school and cross the street to continually evaluate and revise safety methods if necessary.
  • Promote safety at all times to minimize accidents.
  • Collaborate with the Police School Resource Officer on safety procedures or problems.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor with students and drivers.
  • Comfortable working in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Completion of a background check.

This is a part-time seasonal position with pay per session. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safety of our students.
