Job Opportunity: Banquet Captain

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our team at the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring that all catered food and beverage events assigned to the banquet or special events departments are staffed, set-up, and serviced to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the setup, service, and breakdown of banquets and events
  • Ensure that all events are staffed and equipped with the necessary resources
  • Work closely with the catering team to ensure that all food and beverage requirements are met
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure that all guests have a positive experience
  • Collaborate with the events team to ensure that all events are executed smoothly and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Banquet supervisory experience required
  • Restaurant supervisory experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of banquet table service, including related terminology, a la cart service, food service, food preparation, bartending skills, and wine service
  • Clear understanding and ability to communicate to staff BEO information
  • Microsoft computer skills
  • Good physical stamina to work long hours standing on your feet, lifting and transporting heavy trays and equipment
  • Prefer at least two years college level hospitality instruction
