Job Summary:

This role is responsible for maintaining and operating the produce department, ensuring that all products are trimmed and prepared according to company and department standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial best interest of the store by completing all tasks in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed, following established procedures for culling, trimming, and storing product.

• Weigh, package, and label products, ensuring accuracy and quality.

• Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines, minimizing waste and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

• Properly fill, rotate, and merchandise produce and floral shelves, cases, and displays, ensuring a visually appealing and well-stocked department.

• Assist with unloading deliveries and stacking product in coolers, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.

• Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing stockouts.

• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers, providing excellent customer service and promoting sales.

• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department, adhering to all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.

• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

• Ability to work with fresh fruits, vegetables, and other products without negative allergic consequences that adversely affect the ability to perform.

• Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate must be able to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently, and work in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
