Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aquatics program, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests while providing a high-quality swimming experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring a pleasant and safe experience for all.
  • Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the aquatics programs and facilities, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Leadership: Provide instruction and coaching to swim team members, adhering to safety guidelines and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring guest safety and reporting any potential hazards or incidents.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with guests, staff, and management, providing clear and concise information as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a lifeguard or similar position.
  • Certifications: Current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguard Training required.
  • Skills: Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance, knowledge of basic swimming techniques, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires light to heavy physical work, with the ability to lift and carry 40 pounds. The work environment includes an office and outdoor/pool environment with a low to high noise level.
