Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and modification of geotechnical calculations associated with the design of bridge foundations and similar facilities.
  • Conduct research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to organize and administer design files.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles in your work.
  • Experience with geotechnical software applications such as SlopeW, SeepW, Settle3, APile, SHAFT, L-Pile, WEAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to perform office and field work, with a minimum of 2% to 10% of time spent in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or obtained Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
