About This Opportunity

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiovascular Medicine team at Mercy Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our cardiovascular medicine services.

Job Summary

This is a full-time Advanced Practice Provider opportunity. The schedule includes weekend rotation and holiday rotation. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Work collaboratively with a physician to provide medical care, including writing orders, chart notes, and discharging patients.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority.
  • Perform specialized procedures, including bone marrow aspirations, biopsies, blood draws, and other procedures as directed by the physician.
  • Provide information and answers routine questions of patients regarding their disease, including preventive health maintenance topics.
  • Educate patients regarding their disease, treatments, and related drug and treatment side effects and hazards.
  • Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members, and ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Effective 05/01/: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
  • Graduate of an accredited ARPN training program.
  • Current certification as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in applicable state.
  • National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing, current licensure by applicable state Board of Nursing, (including certificate to prescribe if applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
