Job Summary:
The Sport Management Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the academic year. The successful candidate will teach one or two undergraduate (Sport Management, B.A.) or graduate (Sport Leadership, M.A.) courses per semester. Delivery of undergraduate courses may be in-person, or online (both synchronous and asynchronous). Applicants should identify if they are local (with the ability to teach in-person or online) or non-local (only available for online courses). The role requires someone who can deliver course content, contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments, evaluate and grade student work, and hold office hours to assist students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach one or two undergraduate or graduate courses per semester
- Deliver course content and contribute to the creation of assignments and assessments
- Evaluate and grade student work
- Hold office hours to assist students
Requirements:
- Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline) at the time of appointment
- All degrees must be from an accredited institution
- A terminal degree is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior higher education teaching experience
- Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions
- Evidence of working with a diverse student population
- Evidence of effective collaboration skills
- Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
What We Offer:
