Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and university rules to ensure a safe and secure campus environment
  • Perform patrol assignments in a department vehicle, on bicycle, or on foot, as assigned
  • Conduct security checks for fire, safety, and security hazards
  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and issue citations as necessary
  • Provide emergency medical care and respond to emergency situations
  • Interact with the public, provide information, and maintain community relations
  • Participate in judicial proceedings and assist with administrative duties
Requirements
  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter F.S. and be currently Law Enforcement Certified or currently enrolled in a Florida Public Service Academy
  • Must pass the PAT physical abilities timed test
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including day, afternoon, and night hours
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field
  • Experience in law enforcement within an educational institution or large municipal agency
  • Knowledge of laws, law enforcement principles, and investigative techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
