**Job Summary**
Thomas Cuisine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary department in one of our upscale continued care retirement communities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional client and customer service, while maintaining efficient cost-effective management.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food production, inventory management, and labor control.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients.
- Lead a team of culinary professionals, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure excellent service and quality.
- Collaborate with the Director of Dining Services to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality ingredients and services.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, or related field.
- Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
- Extensive catering experience a plus.
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable.
- Hands-on chef experience a must.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and the Internet.
- ServSafe certified highly desirable.
- Ability to successfully complete criminal background checks and drug screenings.
