The Manufacturing Engineer I will provide engineering support to production by improving or implementing methods, processes, fixtures, and tools. This role will lead strategic projects and initiatives to create cost savings and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the manufacturing floor with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Plan and undertake equipment preventive maintenance activities, including scheduled maintenance, supervising maintenance staff, diagnosing faults, and responding to breakdowns.
  • Develop test schemes, electromechanical fixtures, and devices, with programming microcontrollers or PLCs.
  • Improve production efficiency and turn-around time by thinking critically and implementing process improvements.
  • Measure parts, create prototypes, and test parts.
  • Support CAPA, SCAR, NCMR, and pFMEA activities.
  • Support equipment and production line validation activities.
  • Produce and review product documentation, including manufacturing work instructions, drawings, proposals, and technical reports.
  • Perform and/or supervise testing, data collection, and analysis, research, and prototype creation.
  • Perform layout changes and workstations development and implementation.

Requirements

  • A 4-year college degree as Mechanical or Industrial Engineer.
  • Experience in 3D Modeling using SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Experience in process-related activities, validations, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing is desirable.
  • Statistical-related certificates such as 6 Sigma are preferred.
  • Ability to work on multiple sustaining projects simultaneously.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing production environments, with medical devices companies experience being preferred.
