GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Premium Beauty Consultant (PBC) is tasked with optimizing sales in high-end brands (including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrances) by engaging customers to understand their unique preferences and assisting them in selecting and purchasing products.
The Premium Beauty Consultant embodies the image, products, and ethos of Ulta Beauty and the luxury brands they represent to the Ulta Beauty clientele.
This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) by focusing on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (guest service and team culture), and process (operational procedures and compliance standards).
This position requires a deep passion for the beauty sector, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to learn and convey product knowledge effectively.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions)

Performance
Achieve or surpass sales and client engagement targets for luxury brands, contributing to the store's overall goals related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty (including credit), inventory management, and omni-channel sales as established by Ulta Beauty.
Enhance business growth by meeting sales objectives, utilizing various strategies such as product services and data collection to foster customer loyalty, attract new clients, and increase return rates.
Communicate the advantages of the customer loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to clients on the sales floor.
Ensure every customer receives exceptional service by creating a welcoming environment, which includes greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, offering samples, recommending complementary products and/or services, and informing customers of current promotions, events, and services available in-store.
Build, maintain, and consistently provide superior service to every customer, every day to cultivate a clientele list for luxury brand sales.
Possess solid knowledge of the luxury brands available in-store, their heritage, and expertise, sharing this knowledge with customers and team members.
Expand and elevate business by executing exclusive product demonstrations.
Schedule appointments for, and assist in the execution of, services and in-store events that deliver an unparalleled customer experience while achieving sales targets for luxury brands and the store.
Stay informed and engage in promotions and marketing initiatives within the brand and across all categories/departments of the Ulta Beauty store.
Utilize the provided clientele system to gather customer information; consistently follow up with clients post-purchase and/or sampling to build loyalty and grow the business.
Proactively stay updated on new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work hours and maintain knowledge about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services to better assist customers.
People
Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and both internal and external customers.
Foster strong relationships with luxury brand partners through participation in required training sessions and the execution of in-store events and promotions.
Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business.
Attend seasonal seminars hosted by brand partners and regularly engage in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive luxury brand sales performance.
Process
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
Understand the opportunities related to luxury products within Ulta Beauty.
Model brand image and expectations by adhering to the Ulta Beauty dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
Drive sales by keeping assigned work areas stocked, signed, and organized, ensuring testers are available and maintained in compliance with hygiene standards.
Maintain exceptional store operational standards, including cleanliness of the luxury brand area(s) and any additional assigned areas, including the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
Protect company assets by adhering to loss prevention best practices while providing exceptional customer service.
Execute other operational tasks as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma preferred
Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by applicable state law
Experience
Preferred experience in cosmetics artistry
Skills
Demonstrate a passion for and significant competency in sales, products, and service
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to positively and proactively address customer concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
