Audubon Companies is seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing civil and structural engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare specifications for project assignments, detailing client performance requirements and design needs.
  • Prepare engineering sketches, perform calculations, and develop analysis models for project assignments.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring completion according to schedule and within budget.
  • Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
  • Comply with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in hazard identification and observation programs, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to your supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design group to develop and review engineering drawings.
  • Visit job sites to evaluate project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect equipment at vendor facilities for compliance with requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions, as well as bid tabulations associated with equipment purchases.
  • Check engineering drawings and mathematical calculations.
  • Adhere to safe design practices, focusing on identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage workload, budgets, and project resources, requesting assistance as needed.
  • Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned, adhering to regulations regarding PE sealing requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited institution preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
  • PE license required.
  • Field experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience preferred.
  • STADD, SACS, MAT 3D, Foundation software experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, ACI, API, IBC, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion.
