Job Summary

The Security Officer is a vital member of the Facilities Team at Five Star Senior Living, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our senior living community. This role requires a high level of visibility and interaction with residents and potential intruders to foster a sense of safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a highly visible presence to residents and potential intruders to deter and prevent security breaches.
  • Operate wireless communications equipment to maintain effective communication with the office and other team members.
  • Monitor video feeds to stay aware of potential security threats.
  • Patrol hallways, buildings, and parking lots to ensure they are well-lit and secure.
  • Ensure all doors are secured and locked in the evening to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and maintain a current list of emergency contact numbers.
  • Keep a record of residents entering and leaving the premises after front doors are locked.
  • Answer incoming phone lines when the office is closed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
  • In the event of an emergency, assist local emergency personnel as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass State and Company background checks.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for security guard positions.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions within established policies and procedures.
