Senior Test Engineer

As a Senior Test Engineer at Virgin Galactic, you will be responsible for planning, integrating, and executing Test & Evaluation projects on the Spaceship Delta Program. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering test results for various engineering disciplines, including structures, materials, mechanical systems, avionics, and flight controls.


Key responsibilities include designing, building, and delivering products that meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives. You will also support the development of project plans, including baselining, and ensure execution within approved baselines. Additionally, you will leverage your experience to refine and deploy test processes aligned with industry best practices.


Collaboration with other organizations across the company, such as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business/Cost Management, Quality, etc., is essential to ensure the successful execution of your projects. This role reports to the Test & Evaluation Engineering Manager on the Spaceship Delta program.


Requirements for this position include a minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or a technical discipline from an accredited university, as well as a minimum of 9 years of experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of aerospace systems products. Proven leadership experience on a product development and/or test team is also required.


Preferred skills include aerospace test practices, full-scale testing of primary structure in a FAR 23/25 or DoD environment, and environmental qualification standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464, and MIL-STD-704.
