Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Threaded Pipe Fitter to join our team at Dearing Compressor. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, and installing threaded pipe systems and pipe supports on compressor packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and install the correct type and size of pipe, as well as related materials such as supports and hangers, according to specifications.
  • Plan and execute the installation to avoid obstructions and minimize interference with other workers.
  • Cut and thread pipe to ensure a secure and leak-free connection.
  • Assemble and install a variety of metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and stainless steel.
  • Connect pipes using threaded joints and secure them to the structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
  • Perform air tests in pipe systems to identify any leaks and ensure the system is functioning properly.
  • Weld pipe supports to structural steel members to ensure a secure and stable installation.
  • Track and record heat numbers from various pipe and fittings for individual pipe runs.
  • Cross-train in other functions of the assembly team, including setup, welding, and assembly.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • At least six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

The exposure in the office areas is typical, and plant operations areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection. In the plant area, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Temperature of manufacturing work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining operations. The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing area is usually loud, while the noise level in the office is usually quiet. During occasional trips into the field, there may be other exposures beyond those stated due to field conditions.
