Job Summary:

As a Machine Assembler at Dearing Compressor, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling various components and equipment. Your primary focus will be on reading and interpreting mechanical assembly, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic drawings. You will also be required to possess strong shop math and measurement skills, as well as the ability to work as a team or independently when needed. Additionally, you will be expected to identify, label, and install various components, pipe runs, and devices. If you have experience with welding, it is an added benefit in some departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate packages for compressed air, gas, process gas, and hydraulic applications
Read and interpret mechanical assembly, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic drawings
Assemble and mount fabricated and purchased components using drawings provided by engineering
Verify dimensions and squareness
Align and level components to design tolerances
Layout, design, and installation of pipe runs with experience fitting and threading 1⁄4" to 2" pipe
Layout, design, and installation of small diameter stainless steel tubing runs
Layout/design and installation of conduit runs using a Greenlee Electric Bender and pulling/terminating wires in a panel or box
Identify, label, and install various components, pipe runs, and devices

Requirements:

Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical assembly, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic drawings
Strong shop math and measurement skills
Ability to work as a team or independently when needed
Must possess own hand tools and storage box
Proven mechanical aptitude using a variety of hand tools and shop equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Physical Demands:

Stand for extended periods of time
Climb and work from ladders
Work from an Aerial Lift
Lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Work from a kneeling or laying position when required

Equipment Used:

Common hand tools: drills, grinders, cutters, torque wrenches, and impact wrenches
Common shop equipment: pipe/tubing/conduit benders, pipe threader, drill press, power saw, saw, welder, and ironworker (plasma or oxyacetylene torches)
Industrial fork truck
Overhead/gantry cranes
Aerial lifts
