Job Summary

The High-Bay Freezer Maintenance Technician is a critical role at The J.R. Simplot Company, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all mechanical equipment in the high-bay freezer and warehouse area. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Ensure the safe condition of equipment and the facility, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company policies.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform a variety of skilled duties, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and other recognized crafts, to maintain and repair Simplot-owned and operated building facilities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that equipment, including batteries, forklifts, chargers, pumps, motors, doors, dock levelers, hydraulic systems, and product transport systems, are properly maintained according to Company or manufacturer specifications.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities as required by the Company and manufacturer standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain shop inventories, tools, and equipment, and create, perform, and complete work orders in the system as assigned or as needed.
  • Communication: Maintain necessary levels of communication with team members and other support groups, and participate in a management style conducive to operations goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of industrial mechanical experience required; six months of forklift operating experience required.
  • Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) certification for entry into low oxygen freezer environments and authorized fall protection certification.
