Key Responsibilities

Overview

The Aviation Security Specialist is an integral part of the security team responsible for providing charter aircraft services. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of all noncitizen passengers and crew members on board.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the boarding and disembarking of noncitizen passengers, including those requiring special assistance; conduct contraband searches; provide refreshments during flights; and accompany passengers to restrooms.
  • Apply and remove restraints as necessary.
  • Verify necessary documentation.
  • Conduct contraband searches on the aircraft and assist with post-flight cabin sanitation.
  • Load and unload cargo onto and off the aircraft.
  • Support perimeter security as needed.
  • Maintain checklists and checkpoints throughout the assigned shift.
  • Assume responsibility for safeguarding personnel and property until properly relieved.
  • Report any regulatory breaches.
  • Activate alarms in cases of disorder or emergencies.
  • Report unusual incidents that could jeopardize aircraft security or endanger life and property.
  • Take appropriate action to protect life and property or mitigate risks.
  • Ensure security during embarkation and disembarkation at each Port of Call.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen residing in the U.S. and able to obtain the necessary visas and vaccinations for travel.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • A valid United States passport is required.
  • At least one (1) year of full-time experience as a corrections/detention officer in the U.S.; OR one (1) year of full-time law enforcement experience with a U.S. federal, state, city, or municipal agency, or the U.S. Military; OR one (1) year of full-time employment as a security guard with a state-issued guard card within the last six months.
  • Must be certified as a Security Officer in the state of employment and maintain this certification.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in drafting detailed written reports and forms.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must remain alert physically during any assigned shift.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory training and certifications.
  • Passing a Company and Federal Client background check.
  • Skilled in using computers and department-specific software.
