Water Resources Engineer in Training

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer in Training to join our team at Osborn Consulting. As a key member of our Natural Resources Practice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that will challenge and engage you both in the office and in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support field work to assess stream conditions, stream bed material composition, embankment stability, large woody material, and stream lateral migration potential
- Perform open-channel hydraulic analyses and design
- Evaluate large woody material in stream systems
- Perform scour and lateral migration analyses
- Provide quality engineering reports, calculations, and exhibits
- Provide design solutions for projects within budget and time schedules, ensuring compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client and Osborn Consulting standards
- Provide support to Project Managers for the coordination and development of all project deliverables, including reports, presentations, databases, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Experience in open channel hydraulics
- Certified Engineer in Training, or able to obtain within six months
- HEC-RAS or SRH-2D modeling experience
- Familiar with computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley InRoads, OpenRoads, and GIS
- Strong work ethic, sense of humor, and desire for team success
- Willingness to take the initiative and ask questions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- The ability to meet and work with diverse clients
- An interest in developing a professional network through participation in local professional organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- WSDOT Fish Passage and Stream Restoration Design certification
