Inpatient Coding Specialist with Clinical Expertise

The County of Ventura offers a competitive salary and benefits package for its Inpatient Coder-Certified position. The estimated annual salary is approximately $ $93,400.

As an Inpatient Coder-Certified at the County of Ventura, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient medical records using various classification systems, including ICD-10CM, ICD-10PCS, CPT, HCPCS, PPS, and DRG. You will work closely with physicians to ensure accurate coding and provide training and education on professional coding practices.

This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, disease pathology, and medical terminology, as well as knowledge of clinical documentation improvement (CDI) programs and Joint Commission standards. As a skilled communicator, you will effectively interact with all levels of professionals, including physicians, and collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Team to achieve accuracy and specificity in coded data.
