Job Summary

The Assembly Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production areas. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to the Assembly Departments, focusing on increasing efficiency and throughput.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the Assembly Departments to optimize production processes.
  • Audit Bill of Material to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize Made2Manage (M2M) to research job order information and parts availability.
  • Maintain job paperwork, including job orders, drawings, and Bill of Material changes.
  • Analyze assembly and schematic drawings to identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate with Production Coordinators to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support to the Takt lines and Tubing Cell.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or jib cranes as needed.
  • Responsible for final unit checks and tubes, including completing IPI Sheets and Workmanship instructions Sheets (WIS).
  • Complete and submit Red Tags, BOMAFs, and Maintenance Request Forms.
  • Responsible for the movement and tracking of units.
  • Communicate Supervisor's instructions to takt line employees.
  • Support the Test Dept. with adjustments required for unit completion.
  • Print floor stock labels.
  • Support the takt line in the Supervisor's absence.
  • Troubleshoot problems arising during the assembly process.
  • Attend production meetings in the Supervisor's absence.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or a minimum of three (3) plus years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in LEAN concepts.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience a plus.
  • Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
