Job Overview

KBJW, a leading engineering firm in the Mid-Atlantic Region, seeks a skilled Field Survey Specialist to join our dynamic team in Henrico, Virginia.

As a Field Survey Specialist, you will assist in collecting field survey data, operate and maintain survey equipment, and collaborate with our experienced team to execute survey work.

Your primary function will be to work closely with the Party Chief to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality results.

Responsibilities
  • Operate various field equipment, including levels, GPS devices, total stations, and data collectors, to collect accurate survey data.
  • Take detailed field notes of readings and observations, creating sketches and performing manual calculations as needed.
  • Maintain vehicles and survey equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition at all times.
  • Perform office calculations, applying principles of staking and marking to achieve precise results.
  • Conduct other related field and office duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
  • You should possess knowledge of mathematics through algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, as well as general knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles.
  • Familiarity with survey theory, including slope reduction and differential leveling, is essential for success in this role.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
