Sentara Health is seeking a dedicated full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Sign-On Bonus
Eligible candidates may receive up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

SHIFT DETAILS:
  • Full-time, 36 hours per week
  • Night Shift; 7 PM - 7 AM
Embark on your nursing journey with Sentara's comprehensive 6-month Nurse Residency program, tailored for new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience. If you are interested in specialties such as Medical Surgical nursing, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency Care, Operating Room, or Women's Health, this immersive program is available across all 12 Sentara hospitals, blending practical skills with hands-on training, professional development, and mentorship to empower your transition into nursing.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing is REQUIRED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is REQUIRED
  • RN-Associate's Degree, RN-Bachelor's Degree, RN-Diploma, or RN-Master's Degree is REQUIRED
  • Two years of nursing experience is strongly preferred

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is a Magnet Status facility with 160 beds. The hospital features a full-service emergency room, a dedicated observation unit, and specialized services in Critical Care, Oncology, and Stroke. Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering a competent level of nursing care, demonstrated through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation, along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health), form the foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards required by specific clinical areas.

Preferred qualifications include a BSN or MSN. Candidates must meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialties; for example, Critical Care/IMCU requires ACLS certification within one year of hire, and Emergency Care requires ACLS & PALS or ENPC certification within one year of hire. Additional certifications may be required for specialized departments.

Qualifications:

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree

Certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or North Carolina.
