Schedule:
Full-Time Nights, 36 hours per week, 7p-7:30a, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Overview of Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit:
- Collaborative interdisciplinary approach involving family, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, case management, and physicians.
- Private 12-Bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
- Patient-to-nurse ratios tailored to patient acuity.
- Experience with various neurological diagnoses including stroke, Parkinson's disease, spinal disorders, orthopedics, and more.
- Conduct interdisciplinary rounds.
- Participate in shared governance councils.
- Supportive atmosphere focused on educational advancement and specialty certification opportunities (e.g., Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse).

In this role, you will collaborate with therapy staff to assist patients recovering from trauma, cardiac issues, strokes, neurological conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, and medically complex cases.
Key Responsibilities:
You will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, physicians, and colleagues in a respectful and cooperative manner.
As a team member, you will prioritize and adjust patient care in response to evolving and sometimes challenging situations, utilizing problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Key responsibilities include performing prescribed treatments, evaluating patient signs and symptoms, and documenting patient reactions to medications, IV therapy, blood transfusions, and other treatments in Meditech.
You will coordinate patient admission and discharge plans with case managers, patients, and families while maintaining a written nursing care plan or critical pathways and communicating clinical outcomes along with necessary education to patients and/or families.
Team members actively participate in the orientation of new staff, attend weekly team meetings, and are willing to identify or assume activities related to the developmental needs of the unit and the nursing department.
Qualifications:
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required. Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing required (Associate's degree). Current State of Indiana Registered Nurse license and active Compact State RN license required. One year of nursing experience preferred.
