PACU Nurse Specialist: Medical Care Expert

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse III to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a PACU Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional medical care to our patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and prioritization abilities. You will work closely with our nursing team to create comprehensive plans of care for all patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay with us.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, with the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
Job Responsibilities- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A graduate degree from a professional academic nursing program.
- A current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Obtained and maintained certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.

Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary range for this position is $36.73 - $60.93 per hour. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
