Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team at Unilever's Covington factory. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to equipment-related problems and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment in the business area.
  • Monitor equipment meters and adjust temperatures as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery, including repair/replacement of electrical wires/connections, welding, re-soldering, lubrication of parts, cleaning of filters, recalibration of controls, changing line gaskets, and adjusting components.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and work order documentation on equipment repairs.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controls (PLCs) and PLC-controlled equipment with a computer and various modules as diagnostic tools.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Associate degree in mechanical/technical program or one (1) year of technical school training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, fluid, and programmable logic controllers or completion of an approved apprentice program is preferred.
  • One (1) year or more of technical school training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, fluid, and programmable logic controllers or completion of an approved apprentice program is preferred.
  • Two (2) year or four (4) year degree in an engineering field or technical field is preferred.
