We are currently in search of a Health Care Aide who will be responsible for delivering essential personal care services, administering medications, assisting with light housekeeping, and providing meal service support, while also engaging in social and recreational activities.
- Please note that we have Part-Time, Full-Time, and Casual positions available.
- Conduct light housekeeping duties in resident suites and communal areas.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and incontinence support.
- Facilitate simple transfers for residents.
- Respond calmly to medical emergencies.
- Assist with resident laundry and meal service as required.
- Adhere to Care Plans and report any changes or concerns.
- Collaborate with residents to meet their care needs.
- Exhibit ongoing competence by applying knowledge, skills, judgment, and evidence-based practices in caring for elderly individuals.
- Ensure compliance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and safety statutes.
- Promote accident and injury prevention through safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
- Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification.
- Registered with the provincial health care registry.
- Completion of a Medication Administration course.
- Experience in a residential care environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with residents, peers, visitors, and operational partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple resident requests.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Demonstrate compassion, knowledge, and experience while assisting residents.
- Completion of CPR and First Aid training.
- Clear Police Information Check.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- HCA Registry number.
