Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join its team in Arlington, Virginia.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will possess excellent aseptic and surgical techniques, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting the surgical team, ensuring a safe and efficient operating room experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and technologies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • 2 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) certification.
  • BLS certification via AHA.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • 2 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT.
  • BLS via AHA required.
  • Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at time of hire.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of the first scrub.
  • Anticipates need for unscheduled procedures or unanticipated turn of events during a surgical procedure.
  • Supports Leadership team and demonstrates leadership abilities.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
  • Assists with the flow of daily operating room schedule by readily accepting assignments/reassignments.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to professional and leadership responsibilities.
