About the Role

MHG Hotels - Corporate is seeking a highly skilled Construction Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting in all pre-construction and construction-related activities from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating various tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Communication: Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Task Management: Assist in obtaining project bids and budget development, preparing and maintaining project schedules, and managing through completion.
  • Quality Control: Verify all required municipal inspections and communicate with the Project Manager.
  • Utility Coordination: Coordinate with all applicable permanent utility companies and ensure they are prepared to get utilities to site based on project schedule.
  • Material Management: Work with the Project Manager to purchase GC-provided materials and coordinate with field staff for delivery.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain positive relationships with all personnel, design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, utility companies, and all applicable municipal representatives.
  • Safety: Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions, mentoring others while on-site and in the office, and assist to rectify any job site hazards immediately.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in the field of Construction and/or related field or 3-5 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Skills: Must be consistently detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, and be able to recognize personal shortcomings.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to listen and understand intents and goals, and ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Professional Judgment: Professional judgment and discretion that comes from experience in working with customer services, internal teams, and 3rd-party consultants.
Work Environment

This role requires standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time, or entire shift. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (i.e., small print). Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
