Job Overview

The Central Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for executing various departmental functions, which include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Maintaining precise monitoring documentation.
  • Utilizing and interpreting chemical and biological indicators.
  • Ensuring thorough cleaning of all sterilization apparatus.
  • Assisting operating room staff in locating and reprocessing instruments.
  • Engaging in performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Facilitating open communication with internal stakeholders and supervisors.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service while interacting with all levels of personnel, management, and medical staff.

Required Experience

  • Preferred experience as an operating room technician or central supply technician, including relevant certification.
  • Experience in surgical instrumentation and equipment decontamination and sterilization, with knowledge of various sterilization techniques required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently while fostering strong professional relationships.

Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • CSP Certification (CRCST or CBSPD Certification) is required.
  • Ongoing maintenance of certification is necessary.
