Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for assessing the respiratory status of individuals across all ages, providing emergency response and managing mechanical ventilation, and performing both invasive and noninvasive respiratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the respiratory status of patients and develop effective treatment plans
  • Provide emergency response and manage mechanical ventilation
  • Perform both invasive and noninvasive respiratory procedures, including arterial blood gas draws
  • Conduct equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Manage the arterial blood gas system
  • Facilitate patient transport
  • Follow Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Care for patients from diverse units, including ER, Birthing Center, Surgical Unit, and PCU (high acuity)
  • Treat patients with conditions such as RSV, asthma, sleep apnea, and COPD
  • Perform oxygen checks and nebulizer treatments
  • Handle rapid responses and medical emergencies
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Care
  • Minimum 1 year of RRT acute care experience
  • Eligible for state licensure in Vermont
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP, BLS
  • Skills checklist specific to the discipline completed within the last year
  • Two supervisory references from the last two years of employment
  • Comfortable with rotating weekends and potential on-call duties during overnight hours
