Job Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographer is a critical member of the Wellstar Health System, Inc. team, responsible for performing high-quality cardiac imaging procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Verify proper clinician orders for procedures and obtain complete clinical histories.
  • Assess patients for contraindicating conditions and follow established procedures for the administration of ultrasound-enhancing agents.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results.
  • Assist other team members in all modalities and observe patient conditions, evaluating situations that require physician intervention.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography or completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
